PhD (ANU), Associate Professor, Master degree supervisor. His research focus is on the total synthesis of bioactive natural products, as well as the assembly of functional structures. Currently, he is holding over 1 NSFC grant, 1 Overseas Famous Expert Project under the Ministry of Education, 3 Guangdong Natural Science Foundation, 1 Central University Scientific Research Cultivation and Innovation Foundation, and 7 Enterprise Projects.As of April 2024, he has published more than 93 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, of which 42 he serves as the corresponding/first authors, mainly in top journals such as Angewandte Chemie, Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, Food Hydrocolloids, Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, Organic Letters, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, he has also applied for 20 invention patents, 6 of which have been licensed.In 2019, he won the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Award. In 2020, he was awarded the silver medal (for supervisor) of the 6th China International Internet Plus College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Division of Guangdong Province. In 2021, he was selected into the 3551 Optics Valley Talent Program of Wuhan East Lake New Technology Development Zone, and in 2023, he won the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security overseas talent support program.

Research Interests:

Ping Lan is mainly committed to the total synthesis of various natural products with important pharmacological activities as well as the development of green preparation of new functional materials. The representative work include the total concise synthesis of morphinan alkaloids; the efficient preparation of high-purity sucrose fatty acid esters, EPA Omega-3, and propoxyglyceride EPG.
